Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury Rematch in the UK? Post-AJ Injury Plans! (2026)

Jake Paul is poised to make a comeback to boxing later this year following surgery to repair his broken jaw, which he sustained during his match against Anthony Joshua. One of the key fights on his radar is a potential rematch with Tommy Fury, taking place in the UK.

In light of his recent heavyweight loss to Joshua, Paul, who naturally competes in the cruiserweight division, is eager to seek vengeance against Tommy Fury. Fury, the younger brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, narrowly defeated Paul by decision in 2023.

Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions alongside Paul, shared insights with Sky Sports about the boxer’s ambitions: "Jake is determined to demonstrate that he can triumph over Tommy Fury. Before facing Joshua, Jake had only one loss, and that was to Fury. I believe a rematch would effectively showcase Jake's development as a fighter."

It's noteworthy that despite losing to Joshua, Paul managed to go six rounds with the former unified heavyweight champion. However, the bout ended in a stoppage due to the injury to his jaw. As he recovers, the prospect of returning to the ring later this year seems promising, with discussions about his next fight likely to take place in the UK.

"He’s keen to get back into training and has been asking me to begin negotiations for new fights," Bidarian revealed. "We anticipate seeing Jake back in action sometime between August and November. My hope is for him to compete in the UK, as that would be an exciting opportunity."

Paul’s approach to boxing is quite unconventional. He has faced off against notable figures, including UFC champions and even a 58-year-old Mike Tyson, yet surprised many by lasting several rounds against Joshua. Bidarian believes that the experience from this match could reshape Paul’s career moving forward. "Given the limited preparation time he had—only four weeks—he performed admirably against someone of Joshua's caliber," Bidarian noted.

He also pointed out areas for improvement: "Jake understands he needs to enhance his conditioning. If his stamina had held up, he might have gone the distance, but he eventually fatigued, leading to Joshua catching him. Ironically, I think this loss will benefit Jake in the long run."

A rematch with Tommy Fury has the potential to generate significant interest. Bidarian emphasized the popularity of their first encounter: "The online buzz surrounding Jake Paul versus Tommy Fury in the UK surpassed that of any Tyson Fury fight in the last five years, eclipsing even Jake Paul’s match against Anthony Joshua, which took place in Saudi Arabia. If we can host this rematch in the UK or elsewhere in Europe, I truly believe it would captivate audiences—especially among younger fans who are active online."

"It’s challenging to stage such events in someone else's country, so we’ll see how the negotiations unfold. However, I am very much in favor of organizing a match in the UK with Jake; it would send a powerful message."

For those interested in boxing events, don’t miss the upcoming showdown between Caroline Dubois and Terri Harper, set to be broadcast live on Sky Sports on Sunday, April 5.
