In a heartfelt announcement, we share the news of Sheila Elliott's passing, who left us on January 9, 2026, in Clonoe. Sheila, affectionately known as the devoted mother of Laura (married to Ronan), Aaron (partnered with Amanda), Shea, Ciaran, and James, was deeply loved by her family.
She was also a treasured grandmother to her beloved grandson, Oisín, and the cherished daughter of Eddie and Teresa Hanna. Sheila's warmth extended to her role as a sister; she is fondly remembered by her siblings Maeve, Eamonn (with Caoimhe), Bronagh (partnered with Dermot), Theresa, Kathryn (married to Michael), David (with Sinead), and all her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Patsy Taggart’s Funeral Home, located at 4a Western Business Park, Coalisland, BT71 4ND. Visiting hours will be from 6 PM to 9 PM on Saturday and from 12 noon to 9 PM on Sunday.
On Monday, Sheila will be taken for her Requiem Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, Clonoe, starting at 11 AM, followed by her interment in the adjoining cemetery.
Her departure is profoundly mourned by her grieving children, grandson, both parents, siblings, and the wider family network including nieces, nephews, and friends. The entire Hanna and Elliott families feel this loss deeply.
May the Sacred Heart of Jesus grant her eternal peace.
